The Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) has launched a comprehensive “India AI Governance Guidelines” under the India AI Mission aimed at safe, inclusive and responsible adoption of artificial intelligence. The framework is built on seven guiding principles and six governance pillars, emphasising “Do No Harm”, human-centricity, risk mitigation and innovation sandboxes. These guidelines signal a major shift for regulators, developers and enterprises in India’s AI ecosystem and will be key for professional audiences to understand as they prepare for the upcoming India–AI Impact Summit 2026.
