The EurAI Distinguished Service Award started in 2012, and it is presented annually to individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the European AI community.
The award recognises their excellent service and dedication towards advancing the field of AI.
This year, the award goes to two researchers: Jérôme Lang and Luc de Raedt.
Professor Jérôme Lang has been awarded the 2026 EurAI Distinguished Service Award for helping establish the field of computational social choice, providing mentorship and advice to several generations of AI researchers, and building bridges between theory and applications.
Professor Luc de Raedt has been awarded the 2026 EurAI Distinguished Service Award for his contributions to the field of artificial intelligence through sustained service in scientific research, shaping and organising scientific processes on the European and international level, and unifying research communities.
