Google DeepMind CEO Demis Hassabis called AI a transformative tool for science and a force multiplier for human ingenuity at the India AI Summit. He said Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) is approaching, possibly within five years, and urged a careful, scientific approach to understand its capabilities, build safeguards, and unlock opportunities in medicine, material science, and other fields.
