Scientists tracked 142 adult Burmese pythons in southern Florida over 20 years using implanted radio transmitters. Out of 305 transmitters, only four were expelled, all from pregnant females, indicating a low expulsion rate. The study found no transmitter-related deaths and monitored pythons regularly for health issues. Researchers suggest that modifying implantation methods may reduce expulsion risk in pregnant females.
